Mile 266.1
Big Bear Lake was a larger touristy town. Probably a good weekend get-away place for city lives nearby. It had everything.
The weather was nice. Saturday morning I was a clean person and wearing clean clothes. We went out for brunch, but I couldn’t taste anything. It was a sad moment when I could only comment on the texture of the food.
I booked a massage in the late afternoon. So after the brunch Kevin picked a “short” trail that supposed to be an easy one and only 2 miles round trip. And then I found out that I had to sort of climb and exercise my thighs a lot more than i did on the PCT. It’s only 2 miles but he never told me the elevation change. Oreo and Andy were doing great. Andy carried all the water but he managed to be able to run to the top. Oreo, as you may know, has short legs but he got trained pretty well back in Uncle’s place. So he was doing fine. People in California were not as impressed with Oreo as people in New York. He is really meant to a city dog. We also walked a little bit around the lake. It was dry. But we got couple cool shots out of Oreo.
Massage was awesome. It was exactly what I needed. It was expensive but I just needed it. I could easily felt the difference when I set my feet on the ground. After the session. The way they hurt were different. The hurting turned into soreness. I guess it was a good sign. We had Indian food for dinner. Again, I could only comment on the texture.
The next day was shopping day. Andy helped me with everything I needed, meds, fruits, sunglasses, and water. We also had nice hawaiian poke bowl and cold brew coffee as lunch and they dropped my off at my hotel for the following 4 days.
After they left, my life had been eating, sleeping and watching TV in the hotel rooms for four days. I’m not recovered from the cold yet, but hopefully soon.
